Donor Egg IVF

Donor Egg IVF (Egg Donation)

For some couples, donor egg IVF may offer another path to parenthood. At Jilla IVF Center, the treatment plan is guided by your medical history, fertility assessment and individual needs.

What we do

What is Donor Egg IVF?

Donor egg IVF is a fertility treatment in which eggs from a donor are fertilised with sperm in a laboratory. The resulting embryos are monitored, and an embryo may be transferred to the recipient’s uterus when the clinical team considers the timing appropriate.

The donor’s egg collection and the recipient’s endometrium preparation are coordinated according to the treatment plan. The exact schedule, medicines and transfer timing vary for each patient.

Step by step

What is the Donor Egg IVF process?

The process is similar to IVF but includes coordinating the donor’s egg collection with preparation of the recipient’s uterine lining.

Step 01

Consultation & planning

The fertility team reviews reports, discusses options and explains consent, screening and treatment timing.

Step 02

Endometrium preparation

The recipient's uterine lining is monitored and prepared with medication according to the specialist's protocol.

Step 03

Donor stimulation & collection

The donor receives monitored stimulation medication. Eggs are collected when the clinical team determines the appropriate time.

Step 04

Fertilisation & transfer plan

Eggs are fertilised in the lab, embryos are assessed, and transfer or freezing is planned based on clinical factors.

Have questions about the treatment timeline?

Your specialist can explain how donor stimulation, uterine-lining preparation and embryo transfer are coordinated in your case.

Related treatment options

What if sperm count and egg-related factors are both a concern?

In selected cases, the fertility specialist may discuss donor eggs together with ICSI, depending on the sperm assessment and the couple’s clinical needs.

What is ICSI?

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is a laboratory technique in which one sperm is injected into a mature egg. It may be considered as part of donor egg IVF when clinically appropriate.

Can embryos be frozen?

Suitable embryos may sometimes be frozen for future use. The embryology and clinical team will explain suitability, storage arrangements, consent and applicable costs.

Donor screening

How are donor eggs selected?

Donor screening and selection are important parts of the donor egg IVF process. Clinics should follow applicable medical, genetic, consent and legal requirements when assessing donors.

At your consultation, ask the Jilla IVF Center team about its current donor screening process, what medical information is available, and how donor suitability and matching are assessed.
